About me
Hello!
I am a Ph.D. candidate at Programa de Pós-Graduação em Informática Aplicada (PPGIA) of the Universidade de Fortaleza (Unifor) and volunteer Research Collaborator at Tetherless World Constellation (TWC) of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). I am also an IT Consultant at Banco do Nordeste (BNB), a Brazilian regional bank with strong presence in the northeast region of the country.
My research interests focus on the use of semantic web technologies in support of data science. More specifically, the building and management of Knowledge Graphs of data acquired either empirically of via computational experiments to promote trustworthy, transparent and explainable data analytics.
I hold a B.Sc. in Computer Science at Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC) and a M.Sc. at Universidade de Fortaleza. During my Ph.D. I had the opportunity of working at the Tetherless World Constellation as a visiting scholar.

My TWed on “Exploring Scientific Data with Faceted Visualization Featuring Solr”
Scientific data comes from different sources and convey a plethora of different kinds of information. In this context, metadata plays a main role for the understanding of what is available. But to be able to fully explore the data, tools for storing, indexing and querying it are indispensable. Sometimes, a regular relational database may not be enough for the task, due to the size and variety of the available datasets.
In this talk, we’ll cover the basics of Apache Solr, an open source search platform built on top of Apache Lucene with hands-on examples. Also, progress that have been made on Jefferson Project will be presented, which is making heavy use of Solr spatial and facet features. The talk will include a HANDS-ON DEMO attendees can follow using their own machine. NOTE: See instructions below for installing Solr 5 and test datasets BEFORE the session.
